So I picked up a pile of parts from a guy and it was a ‘all or nothing’ sale. Mixed in with other big block parts was this carter fuel pump. I know nothing of them and look fairly easy to work on. Question is, are they good for a big block and what is a practical horse power range can I expect from using it?

I've used Carter pumps on several BB engines 550HP or more. Worked fine.
Typically put a regulator on them.

That is the 6903 street version, but is a later model with the bulge.

If you are interested in selling that, shoot me a PM with a price.

Thanks for the info guys. This looks like a better deal than I thought. After I sell everything I don't need, this will be pretty much free. I have a new project coming in, so I can save it for that. Kind of worked out because it came in the deal with some seasoned Headman headers, a new water pump and a driveshaft that was too long for my cuda.

A place called Then and Now in I believe Massachusetts does a rebuild and pressure reset on these. Saw several guys on another forum saying they were the place to go, even for one right out of the box. Lots of people are getting them and the psi is like 11 out of the box.

I want my fair share
