Currently building a 727 for 99% street use ('72 Road Runner, 451 low-deck stroker, 550hp).
Trans will have:
- Typical clutch upgrades
- Minor servo upgrades
- Typical valve body upgrades (TransGo TF-2 kit)
- 2500 stall converter
I'm good with a firm shift but don't want anything ridiculous or bone jarring at light throttle. Should I use the blocker rod or not? Thanks.

I put a blocker rod in my 2000 ram Cummins 47RE , ... shift kit was a variation of the TF-2 for OD trans... the shift was so harsh I took it out the next time I dropped the pan to change the filter.

Street car like you describe , I personally would not use one.

running up my post count some more .

Probably not. You could try it. Not like it isn't reversible. But based on your description, it will likely be too aggressive for you.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

I was told to not use one on a street trans. No reason was given but it was from a person who knows 727's.
