Sorry for the lousy, SMALL dealership photo!

It's a 2011 and has more miles on it than I might like, but it's still pretty clean. The bride has been wanting one of these for a while.

And I'm already learning what a money pit an older Jeep can be. laugh2

First thing I did when we got it home was to get those infernal lights off the windshield. Then when we started cleaning it up, I put POR-15 on the frame, etc. What a messy adventure that ended up becoming! I learned the hard way not to get that stuff on your skin! eek

It's a fun drive though—a 6-speed manual. Can't wait to pop the top off it and cruise!

I really miss my 2006 Wrangler SE 2.4 6-speed, had to trade it in when my Cummins blew up. Don't really like the civilized Wranglers after 2007, but women sure seem to like them! shruggy

LMAO, it was my wife who bought it, so you're right on point! laugh2 At least she bought one with the manual, it makes it a little more fun to drive. And to answer the question above, it has the minivan V6. Little wonder the women love them, huh?

Hope you don't have little kids, that have to ride in the back. They will literally cook under that black fiberglass top in the summertime...a/c doesn't help much in the back either...DAMHIK.

Well, she's 16, so she ain't little. We're already talking about taking the top off. Not sure how much the 16-year-old will want to ride in the back seat when she's getting her hair blown off. biggrin

One plus to owning a Jeep in North Carolina is that there are actually some beaches you can drive them on. I'll be interesting to see if we can go bury all 4 tires in the sand. laugh2

nice. we picked up a 2016 a few months ago for the same reason. wife has wanted another one for quite a while now. its the rhino color with willys package with under 50k on it. pretty much exactly what she wanted. I'd rather it didn't have power windows ,but ill live with those . we have both had multiple jeeps over the years and it was time she got another. its a hard top jeep. first thing we did was buy a soft top for it. second thing was a winch bumper. I've had a 8k pound warn laying around since i sold my Cherokee a few years ago. she loves this thing. my 13 year old daughter also loves it, especially when the doors are off. smile it really is a fun toy. have had it out in the jersey pines a couple of times where its really fun.

not sure why the picture is sideways because its normal on my phone.

It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Sweet! Ah, the Willys connection! My own experience with Willys was that my dad had a ‘49 Willys Overland Jeepster. Other than the flathead 4-cylinder engine I suspect those things didn’t really share much with the Jeeps of the era. And the burying all 4 wheels in the sand harkens all the way back to a trip I took to Florida for spring break as a senior in high school. We stayed with relatives who had a WWII surplus Jeep. Their daughter and I took it out and she buried all four tires while exploring trails through the sand pines—this was northern Florida, almost Georgia really. Thankfully it wasn’t really buried all that bad, and I was able to rock it out. But that’s what I get for letting my 14-year-old second cousin drive! 🤣

Oh, with the mini-van V6 and the gearing, you definitely aren’t going anywhere fast! Merging onto the interstate here can be an adventure! Yeehaw, taking your life into your own hands! 😮

Are the wranglers that bad? My wife has a 15 Grand Cherokee with the 3.6 and it moves well for what it is. Coming from a Hemi Durango to that the difference isn't super noticeable unless you kick it down at 75 then there is a massive difference lol.

I saw someone on Facebook with the 4 cylinder turbo wrangler that took it to the track. She actually ran some high 14s I was super surprised.

No, it's not all that bad. My points of comparison are my Hemi Ram, and my '68 Barracuda with a 360. No, the Jeep wouldn't keep up with either of those...

My wife was being a little timid with it, and I had to coach her a bit to get the engine up into the sweet spot in the rev range. She hasn't had a manual transmission since her very FIRST car, so she has to learn it all over again. I pointed out the redline to her—5500—and showed her she was coming nowhere CLOSE to that, so STEP on it harder! She got the point. laugh2
