Have any of you guys ever swapped a B body housing into a C body?

I am considering pulling the drivetrain from my 02 Dakota to power my 77 Gran Fury. 5.2 magnum, A518, 4.30 suregrip.

The Dakota currently has a 67 B body rear I added when the original 8.25 gave up.

Just wondered if the B body rear fit the C body without getting into mini tubbing, etc.

Probably need tomove the spring perches, maybe not, buy the proper wheels needed with the proper offsets to make the tires clear in that car with that rear end twocents scope
Measure three times before starting to change anything work twocents
Aren't those cars M or J bodies, not C bodies, correct? confused

Your 67 B body rear end is one of the narrowest 8 3/4's, and your 77 has one of the widest rear tracks. In 1970 the C bodies had the rear track and spring spacing widened, and then in 71 on up, they added the rubber isolation which added even more bulk behind the brake backing plates. I doubt the 67 rear end would allow space for the rubber isolated business.
I'd suggest dumping all the rubber isolation stuff, and using a 1970 C body rear end. It will bolt together, firm up the handling too. Just make sure you change the spring center pins to the normal early pins.

I will see what I can find. If nothing else I have a truck housing I can use and relocate perches and get narrowed if needed.
