Great weather and the track owners are making some nice improvements. They filled in the big ditch next to the staging lanes and they added an extra road or two in the fun field.(going north/south)
I'm glad they moved the race car/survivor tent over to the midway. That area has been desolate for awhile now. It needed to be filled with something. It also move some traffic away from the staging lanes and over to the midway. The area along the fence/staging lanes has always been crowded. Moving some traffic away from that area was a good idea.
The south end of the car corral was fenced off for trailer parking this year. It was a good idea IMO. You usually had a big spread between the cars and it sucked walking all the way to the outer fence to look at a few cars that were parked out there. Keeping everyone in a smaller area worked fine and there was still plenty of space. Nice to hear about some improvements - Thanx for pointing that out - Last year when I was walking around out in the swap area I noticed all the concrete posts with electrical all over , what was that all about ? What’s next and what needs to bee done moving forward

It was good. Bought project stuff, nothing Amazeballz or super fancy. Had a couple priceless conversations with folks I'd just met.
It's far less crazy and more relaxed/mellow than 10+ years ago when most of us would probably agree it peaked, for the 8 years I was there every year working at the MP trailer. I remember a little of the '80s events as well, and they were pretty rough around the edges but still enjoyable.
It's kind of shocking very easily being able to see everything in one day. It wasn't long ago I'd arrive in the morning, would feel pretty overwhelmed by the size and volume of stuff there to look at, and knew right away it was hopeless trying to see it all. Now, it's just a matter of deciding where to start.
It's smaller but feels like a higher quality experience than it used to be.

An unrestored 71 Cuda convertible 440 Six-Pak automatic sold. I know what they were asking. Don't know if that's what it sold for or not. I heard it sold for 575K I think that's the number that I heard. It was Greg Nelson selling it and it was Scott Lindsey that bought it. At least that's what I was told by someone who knows them.
Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

I had not attended for several years due to the disorganization, poor cleanliness, bad food choices, and the annual you are going to get screwed over by something by the time the weekend is over. I was a walk-up vendor this year, and was pleasantly surprised by the super friendly staff at the gate, garbage cans regularly emptied, relatively clean bathrooms, new fairly reasonably-priced food choices, and I didn't get screwed over once. Except an adjacent swapper crashed his van head-on into my table, and buckled it tossing some parts around. OK, you can stop now. LOL It was a really good experience overall.
For those that walk by if no prices on items, it's a swap meet not Target. The art of negotiation is lost. People are afraid to ask what a part fits, what the price is, counteroffer, etc. My buddies and I reward true swap meet folks with good deals, particularly when they have a younger person with them learning the ropes. People that ask questions, we end up explaining what we know and where they might find what they are looking for. End up talking at length with quite a few people, making new connections even. This exactly! I usually price some high-priced stuff, the rest is up for negotiation, I think it needs to be taught in school instead of gender studies. If someone asks I price it, but EVERYTHING is up for best offer, always has been, learn it! Don't be afraid to low ball, I will come back with something close to my ask, if is up to you to counter offer. I saw lots of stuff sell, but mostly lesser priced items, all my expensive stuff came home with me and when I talked with other vendors the same thing happened. I will always go, my 36th year attending, at least 20 as a vendor...
