Well, I believe I will be making passes in the car as soon as the weather breaks and the stars align. Most have heard the combo, but here is the short list. Mono, Caltrac, Dana 60, 4.56 gear, 29.5 X 10.5 tire, 727 ProTrans with pro brake and Aluminum drums (std. gear ratios), 8" Ultimate Converter with 6200 stall, ShadyDell 417", Coleman W8's, 16.2:1, big roller, 2"-2 1/8" step headers, some fiberglass, guessing the car weighs about 3050 to 3100. The engine wasn't on the dyno so no numbers to pull from.

So, what do you think? First outing should be this coming week on either Wednesday or Friday.

Brian, where are you going to race? I say 8.90. I may want to see that bad boy come alive. Good luck!

I have alittle experience with this combo..sounds like it may need more gear and converter..but I would guess first time out it will be in the 9.40 range...hope I am wrong, but good luck

I think with some tuning should be ale to get it in the high teens..

Just keep it in one piece and hope that mid 9's and under and off the bumper are in the cards.

I have my own guesses on what it will run. I will probably go 1/8 mile racing to Kennedale since they test and tune on Wednesdays. I would be happy with 6.0's the first time out with expectations that it can be tuned into the low 5.80 range. I guess this would equate to about 9.20? I really want an 8 second slip, but it is probably not in the cards with this package as is....maybe low 9 teens in mineshaft conditions.

Keep the guesses coming....

Darren,

Looks like it will be Kennedale, but will have to play it by ear on the weather. You are welcome to ride out there with us if you want. Just give me a call....I left my number in a PM.

6.0's in the 1/8th is going to happen..the Q-16 is some power making stuff so make sure you have your tune-up on for it...

The engine was run in on the stand on Sunoco, so I upped the carb two sizes all around to hopefully sneak up on the tune up from the fat side.

I would think 9.20's will be doable when oy get it sorted out. On the Q, you may want to go a bit farther than 2 seizes for sure. It will like more fuel I would start at 4 basline. Just my

Thanks Al. I might just go up two more just to be safe. I have exactly 0 experience with this fuel.

I am going to try to be out at Kennedale this coming Wednesday testing my small block some more as well. Hope the weather helps us out some. If it does I'll be there so if you need any help don't hesitate to ask. I'll be finding my tune up as well. I'll say 6.08@113 right off the trailer, and 5.92 by the end of the night.

Kinda sounds like a good canidate to try some E-85. I'm guessing 9.30s are easily obtainable.

I will look you up if I make it out there Wednesday night. I never know if I will be able to get away from work until the last minute. I normally don't leave the driveway unless it is ready to pull the trigger. I have some issues I am working thru on the programmable ignition.
