Have any of you guys ever tried this. I was always a Halon type of guy but back in 2010 when I wrecked my Daytona and was on my roof my hand was on the release button but having been trained on Halon in the steel mill I know it works because it removes oxygen from the air. My choice could have been burn or suffocate. I know which one I would have picked. This looks interesting

that's a neat and cool product, crazy how it lights like a flair. and for $80 bucks that's not to bad the only thing i did not see was if there is a expiration on the unit itself.

really cool product thanks for sharing

Thank you

The review webpage says "Indefinite Shelf Life" and in the Jay Leno video it says that it doesn't expire and it's one-time use.

That would've saved me two full days of cleanup after the last engine fire.

Seems like a lot to be expected to do when you are also trying to get the belts off, the HANS, the net and/or anything else it takes to get out of the car fast.

An on board system addresses the source of the fire, likely the engine area, and the drivers compartment with one quick punch of the button.

Lyle Barnett's fire is the one I think about when thinking about fire suppression.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

I believe if one is truly concerned about a fire in a car you need to get an on board fire suppression system. Having had the need to deploy one myself trust me you wont be wanting to fumble around with finding and deploying any type of extinguisher. These days you can by systems that self deploy as well. if you really are concerned about it buy the right stuff, and yes Halon works it does displace oxygen for a FEW SECONDS, I have deployed a system twice only ill affect had was a small burn on my ankle. If you are that concenred here is a NON halon system that self deploys if it senses 175 degrees or can be manually deployed.

Some of use are on a lower budget than others. Being retired for 12 years now and wanting to race every weekend available some comprises must be made. I have never insisted on having the best of the best just to let the car sit at home because I don’t have funds to race. Make choices in life that you can sleep at night with.

Well then this one is $252, if that is to much money maybe one should question whether or not they should be spending money on a racecar in the first place. Just saying how much is your safety worth? I mean you are willing to spend $160 on two sticks you have to deploy what another $90 for one yu can pull a cable for?

Well I only bought one so that kept costs down even more. Like I said I want to be safe but being single I’ve already cut household money down to half. Then I help my two sons out when possible. At 500.00-1000.00 costs for some of these weekend races money goes quickly. I have other fire extinguishers nearby so I think I’ve got it covered.

I keep an extinguisher in all my cars/vehicles. However, I do have a Safecraft fire suppression system on my Challenger race/street car. I have 3 nozzles in the engine compartment and 3 nozzles pointing towards me from under the dash.

That thing like a road flare .. Pulling a pin sometimes in the rush of things has been a problem , can't imagine that would be easy to fumble around with that in the heat ( no pun intended ) of the moment , drop the cap and it rolls under the car like benny hill scene

Saw vid on YouTube, fire extinguisher ball. Do know if would go off quick enough on a car fire. Not too expensive.

I sure hope that isn’t dry chemical. Put a fire out with dry chemical and your race weekend is over.
