This is my second H code 340 Demon and not sure what is correct for the hood scoop bezels for 71?

I have seen black; I've seen chrome and I have seen both with the 340 emblems.


I've been looking at pics on the net and looking for factory drawings to no avail.

I saw this Demon ad from 71 and it shows a black bezel with no 340 emblems, but not sure if this was a pilot car or prototype?

Then I saw this car from BJ auction with the chrome scoop and emblems/

Anyone have any factual data they can share please?

Well that hood paint treatment on the GY3 Demon is completely wrong, so that will probably answer your question, someone made it the way they liked it. Black out hood got black, no hood black paint got chrome. Do an image search and you will find all kinds of hood paint schemes and combinations of black and chrome and 340 emblems...

The Bahama Yellow one was a pre-production car used for advertising, so probably lots different vs. production cars. The production scoops had chrome trim at the fronts of the scoops.

Looks like someone put a Dart hood on that GY3 car or followed the Dart hood treatment along with the 340 emblems on the scoops and the chrome bezels.
To answer your question hood black-out black bezels.

Seems the consensus is to leave the black bezels as my car has the hood stripe.

I like the chrome makes the scoops more pronounced they pop out at you.

That's why I don't like them, stealthier with the black scoops, on the street at night you probably won't see them...
