I bought this for my 70 RT/SE which is missing engine, I feel it’s next best thing, just wondering about the assembly date,

Block cast 1-22-70 , assembly date is cut off but looks like 8-12(70) , 2 is for second shift , water tested ... T W .

Is the riveted on tag still there ? no picture so I'll guess no.

No tag and no indication of one from top pad looks like 8-12 if that’s assembly? Either way I think it’s a good fit for car, I am trying to get it as close as possible, blank vin pad is great , it will stay blank also!! Going in this car

Hole for the tag would be on the side around one of the core plugs. It's not ever going to be the original, so if it makes you happy then it's a good match.
