I have a 65 coronet with the trunk medallion. [Linked Image]
it is pot metal and it popped off the base.
they swedged over the center part and I broke those pieces off.
is there a good way to get the pieces back together. Something that also might hold a bit better?
a piece of cardboard slide just under the edge and popped it loose.

I thought about building it up with the super alloy 1 for pot metal repair, and the swedging it back down again. but two reasons I didn't think it was a good idea.
first it wouldn't hold up any better than the original and second I am afraid of damaging the painted ring or chrome plate.
So thought I would see what other ideas there are.

Just in case, I can see that piece being reproduced and sold...

( can't talk about quality for sure )

mine is a repro.
Mike at BE and A made them.
I just got off the phone with him and he said there should be plenty of meat to re-swage it.
not to glue or epoxy it, since it could damage stuff.
so that is what I am going to do.
hammer on it later.
