I look at that as very even…..12 miles isn’t much compared on a ball 25,000 miles around! Just did some rough math, 12 miles topography is much less than a single bump on a basketball, ratio-wise. Well 14 miles, give or take (highest to lowest) of an 8000 mile ball, I doubt if you could catch a fingernail if the earth was scaled down to 8 inches.
