i use the carter 6903 almost exclusively. gotten many years of service from one pump. i don't think the 2 valve stock replacement pumps are made domestically anymore so who knows what materials are in them. you may be getting those 3-5lb pumps that were questionable 50yrs ago. try a pressure test, fuel pump push rod length check, and make sure all hose connections are good and secured before buying another pump. Does anything need to be done to the carb to use the higher pressure Hemi pump?
