Hi guys, I have a question. I know big blocks darts used a unique pitman arm in 68-69. but what about the idler arm. Is there anything special about that? I'm collecting parts to rebuild my steering. Thanks for any help.

Well I need to dig deeper, but actually the 68 arm has it's own part number for all combinations of A-Body's and 69-70 has it's own number for all A-body's. Same thing applies to pitman arms except of course for the 383's are different in 68 and 69...

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

Special pitman arm, but same idler arm on all Barracuda, Dart and Valiant.

What is the difference? I put together a 69 Dart, 383, and used the regular parts. I did have to dent the pan on the passenger side because of interference turning right.

The early C body pans fit better in my H code 1969 GTS.
I'm looking for a stock oil pan for it due to it not having a motor or trans. when I took it in trade years ago whiney

I have a 187 pan from a 71 New Yorker 375 HP TNT.

It's baffled really well with a rear pan lip baffle too, only one I've seen.

It's yours for the ride.
Needs to be cleaned and painted, but in very good shape, no dents.

PM me and I'll email you pics...

Joe

Never mind Cab, I found a pic...

Guys, I think you are getting away from the op's question. Go back and read the first post.

Exactly! This thread is about ORIGINAL big block Darts, not cobbled up Darts with big blocks installed, all that crap may work just fine and be cheaper but the OP wanted to know about ORIGINAL big block A-Body's, please try to stay on topic... eyes

I used a regular idler arm on my 68 BB GTS. Can’t remember if the pitman arm is different but me thinks it’s not. Only arm that’s different I’d the 67 BB GT
