I got to thinking about how many different car brands that were being made and sold when I was a lot younger, born in 1945. I started recognizing different brands around 1949 or 1950 when my parent bought a used 1948 Oldsmobile. Add to my list if you know of others I haven't listed and or forgot about or never knew of please Alfa Romero Buick Cadillac Chrysler Chevrolet De Soto Dodge Edsel Hillman Jaguar Ford Lincoln Mercury Plymouth Rolls Royce Renault Star (Made in the 1920-1930) Simca Volkswagen Peugeot Volvo These are the ones I can think of now, how about you (Edited later) Sears, Vauxhall, Triumph(SP? Range Rover, Land Rover (maybe the same as Range Rover) Henry J, Nash, Fraser, Rambler

Berg, Daimler, Duesenberg, Essex, Lasalle, Marmon, Stutz, Teraplane, Velie. That's a few I can come up with off the top of my head. There are definitely LOTS more!

Rickenbacher. Car company started by the WW1 ace. Seriously though, there have been so many car and truck companies over the years that have gone out of business the number is almost countless. Just click in the search function on Hemmings and try to count the number of car companies that they have listed. https://www.hemmings.com/

Red Barns museum here in Michigan has a real eclectic assemblage of cars that many have never heard of. The number of companies that were located in Michigan alone is amazing.
Never, ever argue with an IDIOT. They will drag you to their level and then beat you with their years of experience

BMW Datsun Hudson Tucker Checker Triumph MG Pontiac Ferrari Shelby PLYMOUTH A12 was the first to mention Hudson. Above is a photo of my mother (now 81) loading her rifle with the family Hudson in the background. You can see "Hudson" on the hub cap. I believe it to be a 1936 "Series 64" model of some type.

and the first four wheel drive, Twyford, made in Brookville, Pa. none are known to exist, however, Bill McCracken [whom i know quite well] obtained the only known set of blueprints and crafted a replica, which is now proudly displayed in our history museum. he is now close to 100yrs old, still quite active, and sharp as a tack !
