Did the stock 1970 six pack motors have the aluminum single point distributors with the weird vacuum advance can or the cast iron dual point distributors?
I'm trying to build two motors for a local guy who bought two 1970 Roadrunners with missing motors, one V code automatic car and the other is a U code 4 speed car

1970 440+6 Auto Dual Point Prestolite Built before 1/1/70 Tag Info: IBS-4017A 2875982 (plus date code)

Built after 1/1/70 Tag info: IBS-4019A 3438349 (plus date code)


1970 440 Auto or Manual Single Point w/Electronic Advance Tag info: 3438222 (plus date code)


I can supply new tags with specific date codes if needed.

Cab, my 70 Challenger 440-4 bbl U code with a 4-speed Super Track Pack has a Chrysler aluminum Dist with the crazy electronic vaccum advance.
Why Chrysler put a single point dist in a 4-speed super track pack car I will never know.

First a 1970 road runner was not a U code 440. Only 383, 440-6, or Hemi. The GTX was 440.
The 6 pack are dual point prestolite.

To be more specific, there were IBS-4014C 440-6 Early Manual, replaced by 4017 for Manual.
IBS-4014D 440-6 Auto replaced by 4017A

The above had the same chrysler number 2875981 Man and 2875982 Auto.

There also was the 4014G 3438314 for 70 440-6 Manual. Also early. 17D replaced this carrying same chrysler part number.

Then the IBS-4019 3438348 Man and the IBS-4019A 3438349 Auto these used the Chrysler Solenoid vacuum advance.
