First question would be what is the intended use for the car? Street cruiser, dedicated race car, street strip?

If its a dedicated drag car on radials the TH 400 would be a good bet. Part time racer and street car? I wouldn't have an issue with a 727. My homebuilt 727 holds around 900hp with mostly stock parts. Good drum, steel front planet, Super sprag. Same stock input and output shafts since 2013. It doesn't hurt parts. Same band since 2015. Front clutch will easily go over 350 passes. Rear clutch and band will go forever. Doug

Call Proo Trans and talk to them, they make the strongest custom made Mopar automatic (Pro Flyte) in the world for both all-out drag racing and high HP street and strip use. 661-940-7400 They moved to Waco, Texas a couple of years ago from California and their website is badly out of date. Probably better information on their Facebook page. The number above may work but they also list (254) 749-5689 Address: 4256 Gholson Road Waco, TX They do build top of the line transmissions for many Mopar racers.
