Did you ever notice when Nash is riding around with Domingus in the Cuda and he accelerates away, you hear the Hemi make a whistling sound. Is that for real?

If I remember it right, they used 360's in the Nash Bridges cars. Seems I read that in an article in one of the Mopar rags years ago. They dressed up the outside of the cars as Hemi's.

I vaguely remember the mention of 360's too. At the time, the Magnum 360 crate engines were available.

Often the sound has nothing to do with what you are actually seeing.

Used to it was common to hear GM and Ford cars start with Mopar sounding starters.

Along with a car running through the gears with only two pedals on the floor. The movie "The Seven-Ups" was a prime example followed only by "The French Connection".

Most everything you hear in traditional film is added later - unlike video.
It's called "Foley", after Jack Foley, who's credited with inventing the process over 100 years ago.

like when a guy gets punched in the mouth.
behind the scenes, for that sound, you have a big guy punching a raw slab of meat.
that's Foley.

If I remember correctly, one of the cars was a 1970 340 4 speed car. That was the close up car. One was a 70 that had a 440 in it for the high speed shots. One was a 71 318 Barracuda ,and the one that they blew up was a 73 318 hardtop with the roof cut off it. I read an article about the 4 cars used in the series. The listed the VIN numbers of the cars. The 70 340 4 speed car was the only real Cuda convertible. There was no mention of any of them having 360 crate engines in them.

Mopar Collector's Guide ran that story. Showed pics of the torched off roof and fake fender gills.
