When does a wing become "necessary" on an ebody mph wise (150mph+)? More specifically an all steel big tire challenger. Just looking for some real world input.

Thanks!

I have been over 145mph in a stock Cuda on the Highway a few times....It does not need a rear wing....Good shocks will help way more. Its the front end that gets all floaty feeling.

PS Mine has a wing, just for aesthetics...Its Heavy, might help in a hard launch...I want to switch to a small spoiler that just comes off the lip of it.

when I changed the front of my A body to a cowl hood & blanked out the grille, I started noticing the rear end started to become twitchy at 145 mph. As soon as I made a wing for it, problem went away & I gained a mph. When I changed cars to the E body, it already had a blanked out grille, & since I saw mph improvements with a cowl on the A body, I put one on the E body. It then became knowledge gained from one car, follows to the next, so I built a similar wing for that car. At 150+ mph, the car is so stable, I can look around for my competition @ the finishline. Guys I race in my class with no aerodynamics at all, say they cannot take their eyes off the track, in fear of loosing control. If I was a chick & my car had a rear view mirror, I could probably put my lipstick on at 150.

Thanks guys for the info guys! Half mile racing is pretty popular by me as well so I may try that as well. I know the car will eclipse the 150mph mark easily. Does anyone make a kit they recommend or they all custom fabbed?
