I am looking at a car (which shall remain nameless) that has had aftermarket chrome added to the pillars and rocker panel area. I'd like to remove it; I'm thinking heat gun. Any better ideas?

Those are held in place by double sticky tape so you should be able to do it with a heat gun. The gun will warm the metal trim (stainless most likely) so you may need gloves.

Also you can saw those loose with fishing line. Some how-to videos on YouTube....

I've used heat from a hair dryer at the same time I sawed the adhesive with a piece of dental floss. It worked great.

The rocker panel trim may be hiding other issues, whistling
Also don't get too much heat going or it could damage the paint beer

That had me worried and is why I'm looking for suggestions.
