Somehow I talked myself into more or less restoring the whole car.
I did manage to weld a new roof on it recently which was a good step forward
Emotionally I badly wanted to hear it run but logically It seemed slightly crazy and dangerous at the time to rig it up and fire the 572 on the cherry picker…..so I didn’t Take any video of that last year. Maybe that was in error. I’m pretty sure the neighbors heard it…
I recall it being pretty smooth and tame once I got some advance cranked in. Lacking a cooling system it was done a couple minutes at a time….

This is a 590 cam in a 440, similar duration at 50 as your cam but narrower LSA. I have one light spring in the distributor so the timing is in the 30's at idle. As Dwayne mentioned, increase your idle speed, it isn't good to idle them that low. I'm usually 1200-1300 in neutral for warm idle.

Mally, I did not comment because I cannot open your video but, many others have given good advice INCLUDING raising your idle rpm to insure decent oiling and potentially friendlier dynamics. While everyone has been posting gratuitous LOL! soundbites and vids. It inspired me to add my low compression noise maker WTH... My first motor in this car had about 12.5:1 and a .590DC cam and I loved the way those sounded.
