Where can I get the correct length and style positive battery cable for my 68 Charger? I have a new one on it but it seems to be too short. I have to run the wires for the start relay under my brake booster in order for them to reach my start relay. (440 engine)

No and I'm not willing to spend $250.00 bones on a battery cable. I may just have the correct cable. I was just looking at some reference pics on the dodgecharger.com site and they show restored and non restored 68-69 Chargers with the cables running to the start relay running under the master cylinder.

Mark,

All the Chargers I've seen with original cables always went over the master or booster and down to the relay, not to say it's right or wrong?......I've tried other body applications, they all come up short, over or under the master/booster,....I know it's a hard pill to swallow, having a battery cable cost $250, but if you want it correct?,....either that or make your own?

Mike, I understand what your saying about "correct" but not at that cost. I know the price of copper has risen but... The cable I have now functions perfectly, it just looks wrong. It's less than a foot short so 200 bucks more for about 8 inches of wire isn't going to do it for me. The large wire from my battery is fine, it's the two small wires that are short. I'm going to remove the cable, unwrap the friction tape, lengthen the two short wires and re-wrap the wires. Here's a few pics that I've borrowed. The pics show the cable running under and or over the master. It seems to me it would take a longer cable to reach over the power brake booster. My car is a power brake car. The last two pics are of my engine compartment.

My '69 Charger R/T with power drums and original cable, routes over the booster. My rough measurements are: From the large lug of the relay to the breakout - 18". From the breakout to the center of the positive battery terminal - 19.5". My battery terminal was replaced with one of those P0S bolt on things, so it was originally longer. I'm replacing mine because of it. How does your repro cable compare? I saw this one from Bill Rolik Enterprises for $139: Battery Cable-Positive 68-70 B-Body Big Block Anyone buy from them? Who else sells these cables?

Mark,
I've sold dozens of these cables with not one single complaint, I'm not saying they're complaint free but in 5 years one would think I'd have heard about it by now.

How is the mini-starter connections oriented in relation to an OE starter

Hey, Bill(GTX6970)? Could he have an E-body cable? In this post: 70 b body positive battery cables? original & repro, you say "I actually modify the currently avail E-body cable to re-locate/extend the leads for the firewall mounted starter relay."

Not a chance, Mark purchased the OE style cables.

My questioning is in regards to the connections of the mini starter in relation to the OE starter possibly causing the length issues mentioned

The 1968 B body positive battery cable I purchased from Bill will not reach my start relay if I route the wires over my power brake booster. The cable that Bill sent me is slightly longer than the cable that I had, but never the less it's still short. If I didn't have to run it up and over the power brake booster it would have reached the start relay easily which is located in the stock location, but so would the cheaper, slightly shorter cable I had purchased earlier fom a different vender. I had to trim some of the rubber on the end of the large cable lug that mounts to the starter because I'm using a newer style mini starter instead of the heavy old style stock starter, and that gained me a few extra inches of length by being able to orient the cable as pointing towards the frame rail instead of the rear of the starter. Since I have now modified the cable I bought from Bill I now own it and that's fine with me. I've thrown away enough money at this issue and I'll just have to live with it... Are all the 68-70 B body big block positive battery cables the same length? If not, which year cable is the longest?
