I believe this guy is correct ! Coarse thread into the fan clutch and fine thread attaching fan to clutch .........

My question is ..... Is this from Tony's Parts ? work shruggy

where did he get the fan clutch ? ? ? shruggy

* UPDATE * ....... The guy bought from Classic Industries as they "matched" Tony's price ..............

I don't know if they changed over years, but those studs not correct either. It is fine/fine one continuous stud for fan blade to clutch. No unthreaded section. Place bolts attached the clutch fan to the water pump hub.

I don't think so. Is that your kit you are selling? Go to page 2 and you can see a previous discussion on this. I have taken 4 or 5 originals apart and they are all thread fine. But like I said if some later version revised so be it, but I have never seen one.

Same issues on

66-70 B Body Accel Pedal Studs - original were fine thread, reproductions are coarse. WTH

70-71 E Body Shaker Trim Rings - original were fine thread, reproductions are coarse. Again, WTH

Why would companies go through all that trouble and get these small details wrong? (Not that I know anything about the fan clutch bolt pitch)

I have two originals in the shop, fine thread continuous threaded studs.

But!

I also have another vintage one here, old parts store replacement. No maker ID, 'Made in USA' (but a longer part number than Mopar used) and this one has coarse thread bolts.

I have an original and just pulled the stud for this thread. Entire stud is fine thread.

Funny how the original poster has disappeared from this topic. He seemed to want a concourse piece. It seems the consensus is they are fine thread all studs.

Still here..just when you flip the "correct" studs around to use the fine side , the stud sticks out a tad. But I did help out those Purist People out there..numbers matching and All...
Bottom line is Reproductions are similar but could not be correct

If you are going for OEM correct you will need to have an original clutch restored. The studs are a minor issue when you are looking at the reproduction fan clutches. Reproduction on the left, original on the right. The extra stud mounting shoulders are VERY visible when looking down at the fan when installed in the car.

So, all of the judges who peruse these pages, add this one to your hit list for the 2022 season..... grin
