I believe the torque converter will be involved too in the calculation That is why I specifically mentioned "assuming no slippage" in my response. Real cars have three pedals.

My 4-speed Hemicuda had 4:10's and F60 Polyglas GT's. It redlined at 125 or so. Redline is 6500 so 3250 would has been 62 mph. Mine was 4 speed though so no slippage. Your RPM's sounds like 4:10's. If the Dana doesn't have a tag, just jack the car up and turn the back tires one revolution by hand. If the driveshaft turned 3-1/2 times it's a 3:54, if it turned 4 times it's a Dana.

JACK up car rotate rear wheel one turn , driveshaft should turn 4.1 times This. If you do not know how to do this. Makes me wonder how you own the car?

Hi 71 , my buddy has a 70 challenger with a 440 , 4 speed , Dana with 4.10s . Rear tires are 255-60-15 or G60-15 . Spins exactly 4,000 RPM at 70 mph . He gets passed by ricer cars and mini vans and HATES driving it on the highway ! Cars with that setup were designed for the 1/4 mile. Completely unpractical on todays’s modern highways.

The speed limit on today’s highways is not really any higher than 1966 to 1971.

My 51 came stock with 3.90's. And a three on the tree and a flathead 6. Must of been a terror in the dragstrip.
1951 and 1952 Plymouths were heavily involved in the 51 and 52 Nascar seasons, pretty much bone stock. Johnny Mantz won the inaugural Southern 500 in 1950 driving a stock 50 Plymouth. 500 miles of WOT.
I think your friend is just afraid to drive his car. I agree with your last sentence. My 70 dart has a 340,727, 4.10 gears and 245/60 R15 tires in the rear. At 70 mph, the 340 is turning somewhere between 3600 and 4000 rpm. It screams at highway speeds. Does that stop me from driving it on long cruises? NOPE! I have done poker runs and cruises that are hundreds of miles with the car screaming, and never hurt the car. I have had this car and combo on the road since 2001, and it is a ton of fun.

Nice Mopar Niklas! Do you know Peter Jenslund from San Fernando Valley LA? Wow a 71 Cuda, does it get any better??? I just got a dana 60 from a 70 Challenger race-car with a STP 4-10 ratio. They guy was saying how crazy it was on the Motorway 4000 at 70 mph. I said fit bigger tyres and you will be fine lol... But instead he has put an 8-3/4 with 3-54's, back as it should be. My Moparmate had the old Richard Hammond's (Top Gear) 69 Charger for a while. It was an R/T car with a STP 4-10 with a 4 speed. It made FIRST GEAR totally useless and made it a THREE speed lol...
