I need some help with some kind of effective deodorizer for my car...carpet was new...got wet in storage...I cleaned it and set it in the sun until thoroughly dry...Its in the car and stinks...? anyone got a suggestion on odor removal remedies??? i heard activated charcoal(i dont know where to get it?) Another carpet is out of the question right now...buget tightening...can anyone help me out here??? looks great... smells musty though... thanx..

Sprinkle it with a few boxes (yes, a few) of baking soda, let it sit, then use a shop vac to vacuum it all up. You might have to rub the backing sode into the carpet with a stiff brush, but don't get it wet, do it dry.

If you can pull the carpet out, even better. Is there moisture trapped under the carpet and in the jute padding? If it's in the jute padding, remove it and get some new jute. Once that soaks up moisture and gets funky, it's not coming out.
