What’s a good pan ? Not hanging super low and something good because I think the car will be pretty quick . And do all pans clear 4.125 stroke or does it take a special pan ? Do we need rear sump ?

I’ll tell you what NOT to get. The Milodon oil pan that I’ve bought seven of over the years. Those azz-hats even though they deny it changed the design and turned it into a piece of crap. I talked to hem six times and emailed pictures and he still said they didn’t change it. The pickup wasn’t close to using and the rods hit on a Chevy sized 4” stroke engine. Even though they advertised it’s good with a 4.125 stroke crank. He ended up saying because I spent two days modifying it he would send me a free pan. Nothing yet and that was 8 months ago. I won’t put pictures on this site as it’s a pain in the butt. I quit putting any tech here.

Will stock pans clear the longer stroke ?

I have had great luck with the milodon pan. They say 8qt but I usually run 6 on drag week and 5 in normal street driving and race scenarios. My current one was bought in 2015 so maybe they changed? It looked exactly like the one I had from 2010. It hangs just a few inches below the stock k-member and has not caused me any trouble with clearance and my car sits pretty low.

I too run Milodons with no issues. The last one I bought was in 2015 or 16 and is on my 434, 4.125" crank. The k member will require a small notch on the passengers side and if you run Hedman race headers the kick out will need to be sectioned on the passengers side too.

We run Moroso pans on our small block cars. They hang down some, but not sure if they are worse than any of the others. One of our cars has cheap headers where the steering goes thru the headers, the headers are lower than the pan. Making a slight notch in the k-frame on the passenger side helps installing/removing engine a little easier. Our longest stroke engine is 4" so not sure if they clear with a longer stroke or not.

I run Morosos on my small blocks, no clearance problems on my 408 stroker.I just put my 363 back in with a new Moroso pan, I have the old one if you want to try it , in good shape I just like the finish they put on the new ones so I got a new one. I forget which motor you run the pan is for a 360. PM me if you are interested.

I love my Kevko pans I've had 3. I like the rear sump with the kick out. I've also used older milidon and moroso with no problems. I too have a moroso I'd love to sell

I really like the Kevco pan. It tucks up nice and sits about 3/4” below the k frame on my A body. One issue that I found. The oil drain on my pan is outside the baffle gated sump area. So you pull the drain plug and it stops draining oil. You still have a quart? of oil in the gated sump area. I emailed them years ago to move the drain into the gated area. Nope, still on the front bottom corner. I just welded in another bung. It is just a simple fix. I even tried to poke a coat hanger in there to open the gate. Didn’t work much.
