Solid rod, like on a chassis car, or Morse cable, like on a dragster, with a toe hook on the pedal is a little extra safety deal if the throttle hangs or springs break.
Using a stock cable, make sure the return springs are in good shape.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

[quote=CMcAllister Morse cable, like on a dragster, with a toe hook on the pedal is a little extra safety deal if the throttle hangs or springs break. i haven't seen or heard of a toe hook on the gas pedal in a long time, my S/P car doesn't have one with a the big Morse cable for the gas pedal maybe I shouldn't say that, huh [/quote] I got one. Wompin' it or lifting, I know the throttle is going to follow the foot.
