It is supposed to be that way. That way you can't put them together wrong. The 4 stands that look the same, 2 have the oil passages for the rockers. And 2 don't. If you assemble them wrong they won't go on the head.

So to be more clear, when you are assembling the rockers, looking down on them, starting on the left, it will be 1 without oil holes, then 1 with, then one without, then one with, then the oddball on the right. The shaft are different lengths but you will figure out which is which. Install the shafts with the banana groove down. Kinda like a jigsaw puzzle.

The dowel pins located in the head are in different places. 0.940" for the non-oilers from the head bolt holes, 1.000" for the oiling stands. Maybe this is part of the problem?

That sounds like a stock casting number. I think the guy at the swap meet knew they were junk. I think you have been sexually assaulted. There are only 2 Chrysler stand set ups that I'm aware of. Stock and 2". I don't know the casting numbers on the 2" gear. Chrysler part numbers and casting numbers are sometimes different. The 2/4 2" stand is a Chrysler part number P3614099 but the casting number could be different. I have no idea what is going on with yours.

I thought I would dig up a very old thread...... I was just struggling to assemble two sets of rocker shafts and stands for a friend and was not having any luck. It looks like I have four oiling stands that have the oddball casting number 3614096. Definitely not going to work with the regular 2468087 stands......
Back to square one.
Stan What is the issue, too tall or to much offset or? You may have some of the 2” valve train stands.

I assume they would have to be 2" rocker stands. I can't remember any other being different except D-5 and they are completely different.
I show 2" rocker gear casting numbers as 3614098 3614099 3614100
