I need to buy a set of 70 challenger drivers side bucket seat tracks, wondering if anybody has had good luck with the aftermarket reproductions and if so which ones and where did you purchase them? i know that some of them dont have the same front to back movement as the originals, i would like to avoid those.

I've installed a couple pairs of the Speedway seat tracks in some hot rods in recent years. They look cheap, and are pretty light duty, but the first set has been in the car 3 years now without issues, but they don't get adjusted very much, I'm pretty much the only driver. I am near 265lbs, and they have not broken, and still move. I've installed a few pairs in customers cars and so far they seem to be holding up. I've installed another set in a second vehicle of my own.

Expect to be drilling holes, and possibly making a few brackets so they fit the car's floor and the seats. They probably don't bolt directly to anything. Gene

im thinking you thought i was looking at some generic ones, the ones im looking at are being sold by roseville moparts and classic industries, summit has them and there are a bunch on ebay, they look really close to originals, these should just bolt in as far as i can tell with zero new holes and no extra brackets, wondering if they function like the originals.

If the aftermarket repo seat tracks are like most aftermarket repo stuff, there is probably only one company making the parts, and everyone is selling the same parts from the same manufacturer at whatever price they are asking. Most manufacturers have a suggested retail price they want their suppliers to sell at, but once the parts leaves the manufactures place, about the only thing they can do if a seller undercuts (or over charges) for a part is not ship that seller any more product.

Good luck with your search. Gene
