Wasn't enough yesterday.

I had to replace some hydraulic hoses on my mini excavator, one being a suction hose that rubbed through. Of course to replace it I had to drain the reservoir. Got my drain bucket under it, put my big catch tray on and opened the drain plug.

Unfortunately I knocked some dirt loose when pulling the drain plug. It clogged the holes in the tray and promptly overflowed it.

Net results, about 2.5 gallons in the bucket and a similar amount on the garage floor.

I need more cat litter.

I have found that Pig mat and brake clean also do a pretty good job on residual stains. Paper towels also work well with the brake clean but you will use more of them than the pigmat.
If using the brake clean the Advance auto parts house brand (wearever) has very little odor

Spray enough to wet a smaller area well, put the mat or towels down (towels should be folded) and step on them. This will compress them and pull the brake clean/ oil in to the absorbent. You can usually flip the paper towel a few times and reuse it. Once its saturated, get another.

if you have somene in your area that sells Zep products get a gallon or so of Dyna 143 stuff works wonders that and a little bag of cat litter or Peat Sorb makes it go away

Once I finish soaking up the oil, I just use cheap laundry detergent to clean the floor.

Spray with a hose to wet, dump some cheap detergent on, a few swipes with the broom and let it sit a few hours.

The floor will be clean after a rinse. This works surprisingly well on old stains on concrete driveways too.
