No striker, no latch.

Hood pins only.

There’s hood springs, but even those are unique to T/A and AAR.
I hate to think how many hoods got destroyed over the years when the owner forgot to put the pins in place after shutting the hood, and the hood flew up and got ripped off the hinges!
Fortunately I lived in a neighborhood with 20 mph speed limits, my hood flew up a few times but that speed wasn’t high enough to damage anything but my ego.
If I’d lived on a street with a 35 or 45 mph speed limit, I’d have ruined a hood or two myself!

Thanks Barry,
when I posted it, I was trying to remember when I did some work on a AAR a few years back and thought it had the pop up spring. But I wouldn't bet my life on it either

I'm pretty sure that an AAR has a pop-up spring.
A T/A will not.
The T/A hood goes all the way to the front whereas an AAR's hood has a header panel in front of it.
Without the spring lifting the AAR hood would be tough.

Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

No pop up spring on an AAR. I’ve got two now and had several over the years. You reach up and grab the opening in the scoop to open it. Glad you was not betting your life. Lol.

No spring on AARs either.

The proper way to open an AAR hood is to insert your hand palm down into the scoop, curl your fingers to grasp the support structure underneath to open.

(opening with the top of the scoop cracks the sides)

I wouldn't have bet anything on it at all.
I've never owned a T/A or AAR myself, I've never been into the small block powered cars only big blocks and Hemi's.
I'm pretty sure that I remember someone that had an AAR back in the 80's that had the pop up spring on it.
Was it factory? I have no idea, maybe they were tired of fighting to get the hood open and added the spring to it.
