Iron heads and intake. What is best to seal around the ports. To me it almost looks like the bottom of the gaskets could of been sucking some oil in. Just want to seal it up once and for all. Also the intake torque is 72 inch pounds on the inner four and 48 inch pounds on the outer two on each side. Why not 72 all around. As Cab said, set the intake on there and make sure the gap for the gasket is parallel. I would assume the intake torque is less on the ends to keep from bowing the intake. I wouldn't spend a lot of time rethinking their torque specs. To do it properly you will have to go thru the torque pattern a dozen times. It takes awhile. It takes a dial (or beam) type torque wrench because of the 2 different torque values. After half a dozen heat cycles it wouldn't hurt to recheck.

For better or worse, the Superformance gaskets are harder than most. They take far fewer re-torques than other intake gaskets I have used and hold their torque much better than most others. But I am not sure they seal quite as well as some others on intakes that aren't a good fit to the head because they are harder.

Another vote for superformance gaskets. Just used them on a build this week.

I tried everything, couldn’t get the intake to not seep oil. I had a friend program a CNC mill to engrave a groove to accept a Viton gasket. No more leaks! About $350 but problem solved! This is what should have been done from the start. I think I’ll pm you about getting mine done.

The O-ring deal looks awesome! Go that way if possible b/c hemi intake gaskets can be a pain. The next time I have mine apart, I'll likely get that done.
Having said that, I've had great luck w/ the Superformance gaskets. They seem to take a setting quick as far as torque and seal up great. The Mr. Gasket and Fel Pros required constant retorquing.
