Does the stuff really get rid of gummed up stuff inside the carburetor?
This gas really is bad.
I just put in about 12 Oz. In a 6 gallon tank.
What's the chances it gets rid of the gum?

It worked well in my riding mower after a tankful with some seafoam in it.

i use it occasionally. works pretty aggressively. sometimes i prefer something milder. 12oz in 6 gallons is a high concentration.

I use it in all my small engine fuel. 1oz/gallon of premium. Helps keep our crappy gas usable. I never drain my snow blower or lawn tractor...they sit all off season without issue. Running some 50:1 I mixed up last year in my trimmer, leaf blower, chain saw, etc....works fine.

Ive typed it out way to many times on here to do it again but yes it does work. I bought a motorhome that sat for five years and it fixed that carb without touching it. If you aren’t in a big hurry it will work on its own. If you need it tomorrow take the carb apart as nothing works right now without your labor.

Not in a hurry at all.
So the seafoam mixed in the gas and sitting in the carb with dissolve the gum? And I guess break it down?

It said on the directions to use 2oz or more per gallon of gas if the carb is really gummed up.

An RV site I joined told me to mix it in my fuel. (The smaller the tank the better) after its mixed try starting it. I’m my case it didn’t start because I was dealing with a large motorhome tank. Three days later I tried again and nothing. Three days later it tried to run. Two days after that it started and each day after that it ran better and better. I try to add it religiously now to prevent further issues. Great stuff in my book.

This might be my saving grace.
My 4 wheeler sits in my trailer and every year the same thing happens. But I use it in the winter time almost every day.
It just seems to be the humidity or something causing the gas to gum up quickly.
It was fine in February but by race season in May, gas problems.

I have used Seafoam for a while until I heard about Techron Additive.

Wasn’t involved in any of the testing but at Chrysler it seemed to be more popular with the Service Group.

The Techron products seem to be 'cleaners' whereas the Seafoam seems to be a 'gas stabilizer'. Or am I missing something? But I am a little biased, after going through the Sta-Bil agony, I use a mix of Seafoam and Red Heet for all my small engines and vehicles that don't get ran frequently. Seems to work. Been doing this for about five years or so without any problems.

The OP asked about getting rid of gummed up carbs and such. He is not looking for a stabilizer.

I am a believer at least for small engines. I had a chainsaw and a weedwacker that were so hard to start that you would have to stop and rest your arm. A landscaper convinced me to try Seafoam. I had low confidence in any type of "mechanic in a can" But Wow, both of these start with one or two pulls like they are supposed to. I have been keeping a couple cans on the shelf for years since then.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

I have a 3010 John Deere gas tractor. It sits for a few months at a time an I am a big believer in Seafoam. The tractor always starts after sitting a long time.

That's my problem. The 4 wheeler sits for a few months without starting.
Seafoam is in the tank now. Sitting for 2 days. Tomorrow I'll start it up and see what happens. Thanks.

I bought a new Simplicity snow blower a number of years ago. The tech was also the delivery guy. He talked about the warranty and said fuel issues were not covered. Briggs had some stabilizer they sell, he talked about Stabil but said he had seen plenty of issues with that...then he looked at me and smiled and said...just use Seafoam. Have been ever since....zero issues. All my small engine stuff starts right up after sitting for months at a time.

Sitting in the tank like I said does nothing on one that has issues. You have to crank it over several days to drawl it into the carb. The carb is the issue not the tank. Every spring I pump the fuel (old regular gas) out of the tank and put premium fuel I for first startups. I carry a 2000 watt Honda and a 3400 watt champion generator in the race car trailer and my quad. They sit from November till may unused unless I lose power. I try to start my snowblower in august.

When I bought my car this past Oct. it ran like poo. stumbled and simply wouldn't accelerate like I felt it should . It had been sitting for the better part of maybe 2 years with basically nothing but a start and run a few times for 5 minutes

I poured a bottle of seafoam in it with a full tank of 100 octane and by the time that tank was gone. it was running much better.

repeated it all for a 2nd tank and by the time that tank was gone, It ran A LOT better ,,,aka pretty darn good.

I think I'm a believer. 4 wheeler starts right up and revs out nicely. Just takes a little longer to run on a little to no choke.
