Wow...at over $13 per gallon, it kinda defeats the main purpose of using e85 (e.g. it being cheap race gas).

67 Barracuda street car, 408, e85, 1.38 60', 6.44 @105.9 in the 1/8 mile, 10.19 @130.5 in the 1/4...so far....

We picked up over a tenth going from pump E85 to VP C85. We did it because at the time all the E85 stores had closed in Vegas. But we never went back. Yes it did require about 6% more jet.

iagree.....I think race gas here is 8.50 a gallon kind of defeating the purpose , guess I'm kind of thinking outside the box.

Not sure if it matters reallky. But FWIW this was a pump gas 446 in our dragster when my son started racing. Was an 11-1 446 with a small roller and Indy -1 heads. Nothing special but went 8.teens in Vegas.

Don't know how your pump E85 tests but here ours is almost always 89.

Never ran it out the ground for those reasons(inconsistency)do you add gas to bring it to e-85?
I'v always bought the 55 gallon drum of E-98 and mix my own. This year i haven't had the car out much and didn't what to buy a drum so thinking of trying the pump.

The first batch of pump E 85 ended being winter mix that tested to be E75, that was a long time ago, Every batch I've bough t since has tested to be either E85 or E86. It will get more ethanol content if I let it sit in the plastic fuel jugs more than 30 days, I've seen it go up to E88 and E89 when sitting in my car trailer in thge winter here, the temps will range from -5F to 45 F during the day most winter days and nights here. The gas is lighter(specific gravity) is what I've been told than the Ethanol is so it evaporates out first work shruggy
