Are you sure nothing is flexing[bracket]? Can you repeat it without driving the car looking at the belts? I agree you will need new belts anyways. Going to double check the alternator spacer. It might be flexing. Not sure. Vacuum pump definitely not flexing and with the wide crank pulley, it basically self aligns and the belt is almost centered on the pulley.

Its usually a mis-alignment issue or a flexing issue....I would string it with the belt off and see what it looks like. Thanks... going to string it tomorrow. Have to order new belts anyway. Vacuum pump belt has to go on 1st. I do have a spare alternator belt. Always need spares.

Just went through this on my car, I have a post on B-Bodies only I thought my alignment was good until I put a straight edge on it now everything seems good. I went through 4 belts usually once they flip I changed them out
71 demon stock stroke 440/indy ez-1 running 10.10 @ 132.14 mph in the 1/4 and 6.36 @ 107.46 mph in the 1/8 not in the same weekend but It did it then I sold it. 67 Belvedere that worked it's way in the 10's
