I can't even survive a cruise night....Look what happened on the drive home.....If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any at all....I was motoring along on my way home when the car just quits. I glide down the hill into the corner gas station and pop the hood to see what the heck is going on, and could not believe my eyes......WTH happened!

Did some hater sabotage you? I've seen that happen more than once to cars at shows, I have taken action on one of them punks also after the show in the dark on his way home after seeing him do that to a another racer I told the racer what I saw and told him to not start the his car with out taking the carb and intake manifold off to remove what that punk drop down the carb when he thought no one was looking I never saw that jerk around cars again at the races or any of the local car shows or gathering Actions speak louder than words

No...Nobody sabotaged it.....The internal counter weights let go and seized up the distributor and then it spun and ripped all the wires off....Do you think that's covered by any kind of warranty? Its toast and so are the wires. Last year the coil went, this year, the distributor & wires! How's that for perfect!

That is a first for me. Glad it didn't tear anything else up. If you feel the distributor is trashed this might be a good time to go with the holley stuff and let your EFI control it. Less moving parts

Less moving parts I am giving that some thought, but its a lot less spark than the 7AL I have if I go with their box and Distributor. And then I can't change back to carburated.....Just debating this myself

I had that happen once with an HEI distributor in a dirt car... It happened a little differently as the distributor locked up somehow on the shaft itself at about 6500 rpm... 3/4 of the way down the straight it went bang...boom....bang...pop... Tore all of the wires in half where they went around the back of the heads and wrapped them around the distributor...
...FAFO...

You'd just have to make sure the mechanical advance is locked out and the rotor is phased correctly.

It was....coil quit a couple years ago and now this. I had 2 of them do that, first one was replaced under warranty, the second one came apart, called about it, never got a phone call back. I bought a MSD, been fine ever since. However the coil is still working ok. Live and learn. Glad it didnt hurt anything on your car.
