the last owner was terrible. It'd be a nice day and he wouldn't open, once he said the power was out when all the lights were on and the air pump worked. 75&80 was PACKED every Friday and Sat night, not just the pits but the stands. M/D is the worst track around. painfully slow to get runs in, Sunday's don't start until afternoon and they try and have everybody gone by 7pm. You get 2 time runs before Elim's. Capitol is the fastest and best operated track. I'm hoping 75/80 reconsiders bracket racing, That is what the majority want. Not everybody wants to play "Street Outlaws".

I'm assuming you mean last owner of 75-80? The last people that opened it actualy just leased it from the original owners that operated it for 50 years or whatever it was. I didn't go there when they had it opened but heard it was a real circus..

Mason is one of the smoothest operating tracks around as far as getting cars down the track. They don't start til noon or there about on Sunday because there is a church at the end of the track. Last year they started doing only 1 time run and than straight into Eliminations. I know some of the test and tune days it can take awhile to get a run because of the amount of cars. As I've gotten older I really dislike the races that attract the guys that go out once or twice a year. They always seem to slow the show down, slow at pulling of the the lanes, putz around the pits and just do stupid stuff that annoys me.

M/D is too far away and too expensive to go for ONE time run. The majority of racers don't go weekly. The only slow down is waiting for somebody to wave you into the burnout box and the a-holes that take 20 minutes to stage. And yes who ever ran the track after Bill stepped down were inept.

Not hardly. I could start a list.

They haven't started until noon on Sundays for at least 50 years, Church. That is why they run Jrs. on Sunday mornings and get them done by noon.

Real racers don't want to wear their stuff out joy riding. One hit and race is fine for most. TnT days are for that.

Is Capital still open?

You should be glad any of these places are still open. If you knew the BS it took to run a track, you might even thank the owner for going through it.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Cap is closed, when 75/80 was still being run by Wilcom it was a great place to go. Plenty of time runs and it didn't take all day. The majority of people that drag race aren't weekly racers, so you should probably accommodate them somewhat. I have raced at M/D on Saturday's and attended many Mopar show/races there. Still the same 2 runs break then eliminations. Just because you start at noon doesn't mean you have to limit time runs. Capitol was the best track. They just call everybody up who wants time runs...not by classes. Not sure what they are going to do with that track. I understand the troubles any business owner encounters.

if Terris Hicks is doing it then it will be all no prep racing. he has $ 10,000 races here at dominion all the time and i think next week he has a $40,000 race for small tire. water burn out only no prep.

It is Terris Hicks and he's posted multiple times on facebook that it will be both No Prep and Prep racing.

PS
All you are is a complainer instead of helping. I always listen to what folks say and do our best to improve so like I said you are not welcome.

Let me clarify, my issue isn’t with the the facility itself. I’ve raced 15 different drag strips over the last 23 years. It is not a facility issue. It’s you Mike.

After my last experience at the track, I had no intentions of returning anyways. I went up to the tower to talk to you, and found orange cones blocking the steps. When I attempted to climb the steps, one of your helpers came out of the tower, stopped me and refused to let me go up and talk to you. You chose to barricade yourself in there. But hey, at least the A/C was cold, right? You made sure to let everyone know that. That’s the first time I’ve ever seen a tower barricaded, and a track owner make themselves unavailable. As much as I’d like to say I was surprised by that, watching your antics over the last few years, I’ve learned it’s just par for the course.

I really do hope for your sake Mike, that Capitol, Cecil, or 75&80 never decide to run brackets again.

I only run South Mountain once a year at their Friday evening Mopar race as a matter of fact I will be there Labor Day weekend for the index race. Its a great track and "Mountain Mike " is great I see him all over the facility when I am there talking to people. Any questions I had via email he always answers promptly. I won trophy eliminator with my truck one year at the Mopar race , its a trophy class Mike came up gave me the trophy and gave me a few bucks also saying " thanks for coming here's a few bucks also " He didn't have to do that. Another time I was pitted at the other end of the track and was walking from the tower area back to my pit , he saw me came by on the golf cart and said hop on and he gave me a ride back to my pit. He goes out of his way to help the racers. If it was closer to my home here in North Jersey I would run there more often. I am looking forward to racing both Saturday and Sunday there on Labor Day weekend.

Seems as though Stanley (the owner of the land) won't/hasn't applied for the necessary permits and The Hicks (Operators of Hurricane Racing Tours) are caught in the middle.
