I'm changing a 69 Charger over to floor shift.
I've found it's happy place that allows unbound shifting and the console is pretty much centered.

Question

Should the "shifter bracket" 2 screw console mount be flange be level if car is level?

OR

Should the console Door be level?

Ive found you cant have both.

If you are talking the front bracket, if it is not level I would think that it would tilt the shifter mechanism opening up a whole new can of problems. Sounds like your console is warped or the door hinge is screwed up.

I have a few consoles.They at are take outs from the 90’s.

Are you sure your problem is related to the shift mount, or is the console not mounted correctly? How are you determining what "level" is? Level in this case would be level inside of the car. If the rear of the car is higher then stock, the shifter can not be mounted with a carpenters level, or it will be off inside of the car.

If memory serves me correctly, you want the shifter level (according to the car), then mount the console so it sits properly with the shifter. Are the console mounting brackets correctly attached to the tunnel? How far off is everything from setting level? Pictures would help a lot. Gene
