Looks great! Why are the plates solid riveted instead of just thicker material?

This is the make it as you go tool. I don't weld, but I am an old airplane mechanic, so I rivet. Hard to do when all you have is a hack saw and a drill press.

Good job! That looks nice. I'm in the same boat...I can make some stuff, but I don't weld. Well, I can "farm" weld. I can make things stick together, but it looks like the tin man crapped all over it.

This is just a get my car going tool and a figure it out tool. If it works I'm gonna remake it really nice and stronger and sell them if anybody is interested. I made it just from a picture of the one that used to be for sell, but that guy won't make anymore and doesn't have any drawings ect., or interest in it. And nobody will lone one out, so this is where I am.

Here's one I got from Dick Landy that we modified many years ago so it could be used with the engine in my car (Hemi RR).
Had to bend the handle to clear the fender aprons & tweak the spring/retainer end.
Works great on both intake & exhaust.

How long is the handle?
