I'm in the process of taking apart the engine and the previous owner chucked the overflow tank. Does anyone have a pic of where the overflow tank would be on a 71' Roadrunner or other variant?

My '71 Road Runner did not have a radiator overflow bottle. Just a hose down the side of the radiator hanging out under the frame.

Hey thanks. I had another guy, Eric, over on the roadrunner nest forum tell me the same thing too. Any suggestions on a factory looking tank? What are you running in yours or did you keep the straight hose?

Many years ago when they started requiring an overflow tank before you could make a run at the drag strip we starter tying a plastic milk bottle to the fender well. I do not have an overflow tank but my car is still not finished.I will be looking for safe antifreeze.

If a 71 B body car had a overflow coolant recovery system it would look like this with the plastic bottle and the upper and lower support brackets.
It was a rare, little known option back then, mainly for desert climate states.

Hmmm...My 71 doesn't have a catch can either. My cuda has one of these. Not original looking but not too bad under the hood. I got black.

At least I have somewhat of an idea of what to look for. My car was origionally built in california, but I live in san antonio, tx so it's in the desert climate now lol.

My '71 Charger did not have an overflow tank either. I picked up a small square one that slipped onto a bracket. I think it came off something like a Dodge Colt or other small car.
Anyhow, it fit well because it was not too big.
You might be able to get something off a Cordoba that may work?
