I have never used a girdle, but I am a big fan of the superformance pan gaskets. I have reused them over and over between the block, windage tray, and pan. Only place I put a small dab of silicone is at the corners where the timing cover meets the block, and the rear seal at the back.

Clean surface with Ultra Grey will seal easily with no leaks. I still use a generic gasket with it. Why? Because its very difficult to remove the pan. With a gasket it rips when prying it off. Then the pan can be removed. The valley tray, motor plate, water pump, headers, get nothing but Ultra Grey. Doug I used to do that and and I got tired of the cleanup when everything was apart. Ultra Grey is almost like an adhesive too. Sometimes its hell to get things apart when you use it. With the Superformance, you can silicone it, pull it apart later and it never rips, and the small dabs of silicone clean right off. When I switched to the Superformance, I asked the gasket where it had been all my life....

With my World block i seem to have a resonance causing the pan bolts to loosen up , even with loctite i have been using the standard Felpro , but very thin and dont seem to like retightening too often . I have used a Milodon before and like the look of it bit thicker . I currently have a Felpro 1834 to try , its a steel core type and uses a silicon material (?) . Felpro says NO sealant . It is thick and notes as being for KB top fuel . I think i read somewhere NHRA mandates this style . Its a pain to pull the road/race pan so it may wait a little while . Have to trim lower trans bell a little to help. Noone here in Aus carries Superformance , still wating for Mancini on my last order . Better call Todd .

I am so glad I opened this thread. They have the M1 tunnel ram top gaskets! I thought for sure I was going to be cutting up a couple cereal boxes.

Greg has nice stuff.... his carb gaskets are da’ chit! Have them on both carbs and the bowls and metering blocks still fall off when the bolts are loosened.
