I don't know what the ET is yet....Its a brand new engine. Should run 5.80's in the 1/8th at just over 3000lbs..

You guys aren't helping much....I am sending the pump in. I am pretty much resigned to missing opening day at this point. The seal IS directional, and over the phone the guy can't describe which side faces the motor. I have tried the seal both ways, and my guess is the motor shaft is scored enough from the bearing that locked up last year that it needs a new motor AND seal.

And I will tell you what, having the pump fail is one thing, having fuel all over a hot car and pavement is another. It dumps the tank every time this happens.

So finding a suitable alternative is kinda my thinking at this point in the game, but I am not totally sure. When you look at flow numbers and rated HP and nothing makes sense when comparing manufacturers. What flow do I need to make sure 850hp is just fine? I know an A1000 will cover that, and at 4amps less current draw.....Its the only other BIG pump I have experience with. And it was so good, I sold my spare I had for almost 10 years. That style pump, just does not lend it self well to installing it in my Duster and its not just the price of the pump anymore.
So I will call Magnefuel today and see if they can save my butt....Or maybe we try an A2000 pump....Not sure at this point. This sucks and I am almost out of time.

I have a cut off valve on the tank, otherwise mine would've dumped the fuel too.

Well, my big tire A-body is short on space, and I never really thought it necessary.....Until now.

I bought a 80 Micron inline fuel filter with #10 AN threads that had a turn off valve built into it, I think it was a Aeromotive. CRS whiney
The brass looking element was around 6 to 10 inches long by 1 to 1/2 inch diameter and flowed a hoop of fuel up

It didn't run a thousandth of a second better than it ran for years with the black. I am sure the black would have supported even more power, as long as it gets good steady voltage

My 2-cents,
For a 600 hp car running gasoline, it doesn't take much of a fuel pump. Maybe 50 GPH plus some reserve (say a 90 GPH rating).

Now a 1000+ hp engine running alcohol needs to move some fuel!

I've had GREAT service from Aeromotive's pumps. A lot better than some friends of mine running other brands...Magnafuel, BG, etc.

Brand new pump leaked as well....Right out the front o-ring fitting. As I am pouring fuel in, I hear fuel hitting the floor...I look underneath and a lot of bad words left my mouth in disbelief...Changed o-ring on the new fitting, added Loctite 567, and it solved the leak after loosing 2 more gallons of race fuel...And it was their brand new fittings....I ordered everything new because I accidentally sent the fittings back with the other pump, and this time I went with a smaller 300....

This pump also must build a lot more line pressure. I had to back the regulator up front waaaay off.

No more MagneLeak for me....

We have an Aeromotive A2000 on the Camaro. Been on there for well over 10 years...no issues ever. I believe it's the same basic configuration you have...return right off the pump back to the tank. twocents

I considered one of those.
