Gary at Larry’s Machine is having a problem
He sent a set of Indy small block heads for Cnc , which Modern already has a program for , but now no communication
Either on answering the phone or email
So is there anyone local to Modern that wants to make some money in stopping by Modern and picking up those heads and shipping them back to CT ??
And yes Larry’s Machine will gladly pay a recovery fee for doing so , send me a PM if interested or able to help

A Super stock racer sent his heads intake and valve train to modern. It took 3 yrs to get the intake and valve train back. He let him keep the heads rather than pay shipping ( cheaper to buy cores than ship). Same story would not answer phone or return calls or email. The racer finally got fed up and had some one go to modern and forcibly remove his property. I posted about this and people came out of the wood work to support modern. I feel he is a deadbeat and would never do business or recommend him to anyone.

After everything I've heard about them since Jeff's passing, I wouldn't send them anything. Jeff was not a pleasant guy to deal with, but he did what he said he would do...from my experience anyway (from 2006). There are too many other places that do good work to send your stuff to before I'd deal w/ someone whose word is no good.

Same ol story , racers get honked all the time .. and, no one ever either wants to believe so and so is dishonest or even bother to check ..

i have two pairs of heads that have been through Modern....the first set i didnt know, as i was dealing with another party that uses Modern. The second time......i held my breath LOL, but they came back pretty fast. Again i was dealing with a person that uses Modern. Would i do it again?? I dont think so, there are other places out there that do work just as good as modern, and they have reasonable turn around times and great communication. This type of work can take some time, but not forever or NO communication. Thats pretty poor service honestly. AND as most people know, i dont like to bash a company, but in this case you dont hear too many people praise the turnaround time or communication from Modern

I haven't been on here for long time now. A friend messaged me about this. I'm not very local, more like semi-local, Modern Cyl Head is 35-40 minutes from where I work. More than an hour from home. Had Bob CNC some Stage VI heads last year. I like the guy & he does very nice work but seems to work on multiple projects at a time. He used to CNC a lot of 906 heads for Muscle Motors. He must have had some kind of turnover. And I also see others complaining about part shortages due to the Covid crisis. There was another thread like this 2 years ago on here.

So where would you send a set of 440-1’s or any other Mopar heads to get ported?
Who is the best out there these days? Larry Smith in North Carolina. Exceptional work.

Larry Smith in NC or Dwayne Porter (fast68plymouth) in VT. Goodwin Competition seems to work miracles w/ -1 heads though. They make 200 hp more than anyone else ever has w/ them.
