So I've got the 84cc big block heads, part# 60929 assembled for a flat tappet cam. I need to replace the springs to accommodate a roller and basically make them into part #60925. The only difference I can find between both of these assembled heads are the springs. They appear to both use the same locks and retainers. I'm working off of this PDF: https://edelbrock-instructions-v1.s3.amazonaws.com/edelbrock/60929.pdf

I've tried contacting Edelbrock Tech since last week, but was met with an automated message stating they were closed until today. Got greeted with the same message this afternoon, so who the hell knows when they're open. I can only assume it's the CA lockdown. Summit only has two sets of the roller springs left.

Is it as simple as ordering the springs and swapping them out?

Thanks again Moparts.

You can just swap the springs. Just make sure to check for coil bind.

You'll want the parts to all be compatible and the correct height. I'd suggest taking one of the springs off the head so you can inspect and measure everything. You'll need a spring cup, spring, lock and retainer that all works together and you'll need to have the correct spring for you application that also fits into the installed height that you have available.

You didn't specify hydraulic or solid roller. Either way do as Andy says. Make sure it all fits and works together. I run a Comp street solid roller with Eddy heads and the springs recommended by Comp. It all fit and functions just fine. Just a street toy that doesn't see extended high RPM but has been north of 6K more than once....lol.
