I am thinking about leaving my car / enclosed trailer at the track for the season (Lebanon valley ny)
The track is 2.5 hours away and the ride is staring to get to me. Thinking if I can drive up and back without the tow it would be more bearable.
I would likely not always bring the truck so I have to make something to support the rear of the trailer for loading and unloading.
Anybody done this ? Pics ?

Also thinking about security. Can get a boot type tongue lock , but what else ?

Thanks for looking

Jack it up on stands and take the tires home with you. Not many thieves would bring 4 tires with them to steal it.

Only need two on most newer torsion suspension trailers to tow a short distance.

I have been leaving my car at my local track for over 25 years . Every year I pay $200 for my reserved parking space . I do have to move it occasionally for special meets but the track has somewhere we can move them too. I just put a jack stand under the trailer frame in the rear and one in the front , chock the wheels and that’s it I take the car in and out all the time with no problems. I have never had a problem with anybody messing with my trailer in all my years leaving the trailer there, I have heard about GPS tracker security / motion detectors that send an alert to your phone if the trailer moves.

How long is your trailer and how heavy is your car?
I have a friend who has a 24 Ft long cheap brand enclosed trailer rated at 7000 Lbs. GVW, he puts blocks of wood under the rear of his trailer if he is going to unhook it and leave it overnight so he can load and unload with it disconnected from his truck. scope
I have a 1999 24 Ft. long Pace shadow 10,000 GVW car trailer and I unhook it from my truck when I first get there before unloading the car at most of our local two day races thumbs
I hauled my old pump gas Duster in it, 3200 Lbs. wet weight and my current S/P car weighs near 2600 Lbs. with out me in it ready to race, the trailer has never acted like it would pull the front of the trailer up while unloading either car shruggy
Be safe first of all up twocents

Mike the announcer?.
He introduced himself last year and kinda lit the fuse with leaving it there. Wish I could live there but a motor home is out of my reach .

I’m thinking about some kind of legs that would fold down from the frame that I can lock in place . If I make it so I can lower the tongue lower than the average hitch , then lower and lock the legs , then jack the tongue it would be difficult to literally drag it away.

Yeah I do everything the hard way

Do your trailer wheels have holes in them? If so chain them together with a big link logging chain to slow the potential thieves down thumbs

My local track floods on occasion but the track owners have our emergency contact numbers so they can warn us to come move them if need be. The track has a truck people can use if you can't get your tow rig there in time or they can move your trailer for you in extreme cases. I think in over 25 years I have only had to move my trailer 2 or 3 times because of flooding. My reserved pit spot is on higher ground that never floods but there is a creek in front of it.... good point Cab Burge ! I did that for a few years.

I would suggest using the puck style locks on the doors, using a wheel lock through the wheels (or remove them), a tongue cover lock and pin lock.

My truck, trailer and rv were each broken into over the years while in storage. The police were 100% useless in each case and could honestly care less - they just said thats why you have insurance.

With that said I would seriously suggest an off track insurance policy. It's quite reasonable and worth the piece of mind.

I bought my roller off a guy that leaves his nova at the track (Lebanon Valley) all season. It's gated and locked at nite. I'd probably just get a GPS locator and you can set a "geo fence" so that once the trailer moves a short ways the software sends you a text. Probably $50 month or so to have the service but piece of mind.

Hoping to finally do some racing up there before the seasons over.
