Per Dave Smith " you have the trick tranny, you don't need the trick fluid. I use a brand name type F and change it every 15 to 20 runs. Good Luck....Jim

Valvoline Type F non synthetic If it starts to turn color or smell change it Is this car a Street Hemi or M.W. car? Stock type street and strip Pro Trans or one of his all out his race parts tranny? Do you monitor and record tranny fluid temps? If so once it gets near(290+F) or above 300F I change it in my S/P car with a glide in it

Petroleum Type F or FA. Valvoline. Change it frequently. I've heard of all kinds of fluid being used in the big horsepower units - Pro Mod, RVW, Pro 275, etc - hydraulic oil, shock oil, compressor oil....
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

JR1 synthetic. Changed once a year at about 100 passes Been running the same band and aluminum drum for over 500 passes. Both look like new. Clutch life is great. Motor makes around 900. Doug

I used to use Mobil 1 Synthetic but for the past 10 years per the advise from my tranny builder I've been running O'Reilly's type F and every freshen up looks perfect. Told me to quit wasting my money. Run the whole year on same fluid, don't change engine oil all year either.

Been running Dextron since the mid 80's. The trans was in my cuda from 2001-2006. The car was nothing special ran low tens. The trans sat for about 8 yrs when life got in the way. In 2013 took it in to be checked and rebuilt if nec was told other than a few minor adjustments everything was fine. Been running it ever since in my wagon. Its not as fast but is a heavy pig. Nothing but routine fluid changes.
Ok

Dave told me to run Type F fluid in my ProFlite so I use Amalie Type F. How often did he tell you to change it? Do you have aluminum drums?
