I have a 1973 cuda here that came with a bunch of repo parts. Anyhow there is a 1970-74 us radiator there, and a Laysons overflow bottle kit with bracket. But no shroud.

1st off the bracket doesn't fit the sides of the rad.. The rad has c-channel on the sides, one flange for mounting to the rad support and a flange on the front I guess for a shroud. Well the overflow bracket runs close to the edge of the rad, so the front part of the rad side channel is in the way to be able to mount it.

Looking at the repo shrouds that list for 1970-74 e-body 22in rad to doesn't look like they will work with a 1973 coolant recovery system.

Does anyone have a pic or part number for the factory shroud for 1973 cuda 22in rad? I want to check one out to try and figure this out. I don't think the repo's will work even though they list it.

73s didn’t use the recovery tanks. 74 was the only year - maybe that’s why they switched to a 19” rad that year. My 73 Challenger had a late b-body overflow tank that bolted to the passenger inner fender, where the wiper fluid reservoir would be. Not ideal but probably needed it to pass tech when it was racing.

ok starting to make sense. Did the 1973 just dump on the ground like older models?

Yep. There was a recovery jug available on b-bodies in 1972 but I don’t know if it would fit and I don’t think they are repopped. I had a NOS one many years ago. The bracket setup is different from e-body. A-body tanks won’t fit with a 26” rad, can’t say about a 22”.
