the "new" engine in progress [446rb] for my charger is [or will be] roughly 500hp.
my plan is for solid engine mounts and a poly transmission [727] mount.
yes, i know there may be vibration issues, but i can deal with that.
the dum "old guy" question is this. is it possible there will/can be issues with breaking the mount ears on the engine ?
the car is heavy, and although i can't remember exactly what it weighed when i weighed it 90 or 100 years ago, i'm thinking 4000lbs or so.
3.91 rear, 3800-4200 converter, 29.5 tire.
TIA as always; you guys help me remember by jogging my fogged up grey matter [or lack thereof laugh2]

If it is a automatic tranny and you don't do any neutral starts you should be fine up twocents
My old pump gas Duster as well as several other automatic cars I've race with front motor plates as well as solid mounts never crack or broke off a ear, one of my friends had a stick shift car that would dead hook with solid mounts and they never cracked or broke a ear either work

Solid on the driver's side , conventional on the passenger will knock down some of the vibration.

Ran solid mounts on both sides with stock trans mount on the 511 wedge in my 69 Super Bee with no problems. Car was over 4000 pounds and ran 11.7 in the 1/4. This car was mostly street driven and I never had any vibration issues.

I’ve been running solid mounts on all my engines since 2004. Started with 540hp and now over 600hp withno problems on the factory blocks. That’s just my experience. Also, pretty heavy b body.

I did a solid mount on my drivers side. I noticed no difference with regards to vibration or drivability.

I drive it everywhere.

I seem to be the odd man out, but when I've run solid mounts I noticed the vibration. I put one in my fury for a number of years and really noticed on that car. Maybe because it was more street and quieter than the other cars mentioned in here? I had both solids on my rowdy 440 in my coronet and with header mufflers or open headers I never noticed it smile

I use to use chains with a turn buckle, the chains will stretch and so will the eyes of the turnbuckles, way better off with a single solid strap up twocents scope

i'm not laughing one bit ! the engine in the car now, HAS a chunk of chain cranked tight by using a long bolt and one link shorter chain than it would take to allow a slight slack. biggrin
i have a new set of solid mounts on the shelf i was going to install on the new engine, and transplant the engine/transmission/header combo in one motion.

I used to use the really nice tie down from Schumacher before they went out of business. Bolts to the K-frame and front of the engine and works really nice. Very clean.
