Think of all the money you will save with diesel costing 30 cents a gallon more at the pumps and $5000.00 for the engine. Should only have to drive it to 400,000 miles to break even over the standard V6. Then after that, like winning the lottery baby! boogie

A Co-Worker had one. For one year and he dealt it off on a 5.7. Said it was a great day to see that thing go.

And it probably tows less weight too, so no interest at all here...

I hate working on eco-diesels. The engine compartment is a total maze of gadgets and lines. If you are even thinking of owning one first look at Copart auto insurance auctions of the wrecked ones. You will see tons of them with the engine bays burnt out because they are very prone to starting on fire! I tell everyone to AVOID an eco diesel!

FCA doesn’t even want the cores back on the blown up Ecos... our core guy didn’t even want them. Said the dealer to the south had 6 of them. We’ve replaced 17 of them.

.....and we’ll be pulling transmissions until the cows come home for that STUPID tone ring that comes apart. Recall parts are in the depots and will be released 4-1 from what I’ve heard

I’ve always said that the service mechanics are your best friends. NOT the salesman. Lol!

I bought a 2019 Ecodiesel Classic brand new in January of 2020. I was driving it home from the dealer with 30+ miles on the odometer and it smelled like something was burning. I did some research that night and found the engine fire problem. I put almost 3,000 miles on it before selling it. That's right. Before the first oil change.

By April of 2020, with plants shuttered and dealers without new inventory, the truck had actually increased in value and I made a profit on it. I am so glad I got rid of it. The guy I sold it to hasn't had a problem yet but the peace of mind is worth it.
