Thanks no fender tag it was stolen, delivery date was 1/25/66 So with that and what I’ve been told, one of the earliest 66 Hemi cars built

Is that when the dealer got it or when customer bought it? Wouldn’t there be Hemi cars built in August and September and the beginning of the model year?

this example: 1 = Lynch Rd. assembly plant 119 = Wednesday 1/19/66 Scheduled Production Date & 02165 = Shipping Order # Is that for 1965 Mopars? Or certain range of years? My 1968 Body stamping SO number is not that long. Mine in B8B085218 it's that way for ~'62-'66, then they added the year & plant for '67, then eliminated the SPD and added a body code for '68 & went to the last 8-digits of the VIN for '69 so your B8B085216: B = Barracuda 8 = 1968 B = Hamtramck, MI assembly plant 085216 = Shipping Order #

The guy I talked to at length (4 hours on the phone) worked at the St Louis plant then, he said the Hemi cars were not built till Nov.

I have decoded the card (Chrysler will not do it anymore) but it’s not like a ‘build’ sheet. Just didn’t dawn on me that that first series of punch’s were the build date witch matches the chassis numbers. I can send you a copy of the card. Just noticed the card only shows two ones then the nine but the body shows three ones. The card only has one box for the month built I guess Nov Dec would be hard to show.

Would be interesting to see when the difference in when they Scheduled to build it versus when it was actually Shipped. With the delayed Hemi production start, I’d imagine this difference might not be typical. ???

I’m under the impression this car was just put out there early in a ‘sales bank’, a stripped version till someone ordered one with that combo. IMO Radio and tinted glass was added then sent out . Long short story, radio was NOT installed on the assembly line but like I said, added later. Fender hole was a hack job in the wrong spot and ant. cable ran thru a hole that was made with a long 5/8 punch right next to top hinge, no rubber grommet or dum dum to close the hole around it or in the correct spot down in the kick panel. Windshield and back glass was black glued in, had to cut the gasket in multiple pieces to get them out intact. Never in all my years seen that in such a low mile car. Another thing about the radio, the chrome strip along the bottom of the dash is sized for the delete plate, if a radio is there the chrome has a smaller opening. I have both types and it is the bigger one on the original dash. It’s going back with no radio but I’ll keep the glass.

he's already stated that it was Scheduled 1/19/66 & Shipped 1/25/66 - a total span of 6 days
the month column on the IBM card used the 1-9 (January-September) and A-C (October-December) same as later fender tags
email the IBM image my way & I'll compare it to others I have copies of - but the earliest I have info on from Lynch Rd. are around 61177xxx, but they are not Scheduled until December (one HEMI IBM I have a copy of SPD C10 12/10/65 & Shipped 12/21/65 * 11 days)

I'll have to check other 1966 Lynch Rd. body stampings, but SPD = 1/19/66 Shipped Date = 1/25/66 I went back & fixed some of the prior posts with incorrect info

Hemi on the lower front fenders behind tire. I’m gonna print that out now. Another cool thing, on inside of trunk lid in grease pencil it says blu 775, saved that. How does this pic get turned around?

A6 Carbs would not be correct for that car. Carbs had to lead a build more then that. I have a set of L5. Since this is the beginning of production for street hemi and carbs, L may have been the earlies made, but I do not know for sure, there could be earlier carb dates. F8 were the dates on the very early 69 Car with AUG/Sep SPD. They were made in batches. So not like they were made every day of every month. Pretty specific manufacture dates for hemi carbs. Are the L5 for sale?
