Trying to get my 2 bbl Carter BBD back together with a kit, and the kits exploded view is lack luster at best in quality and I cannot seem to figure out where this part goes. Google exploded views don't seem to locate the piece either.. Mind you, it was not a rebuild piece but was already in my carb. It's Brass, and very small, small enough to fit the round accelerator shaft. But I'm pretty sure it wasn't located there. It's shouldered like this on both sides.

Any ideas?

I'm assuming you have the accelerator pump with the round rod rather than the flat rod?

I may have a couple of them laying around with the round shaft. I'll see what I can find. I don't think it has anything to do with the accel pump. At 1st glance

i remember one of the kit manufacturers [tomco maybe ?] always included an exploded carb view that showed where all the kit parts went, as well as what the kit name for the part was.
maybe that isn't done anymore to save a couple of pennies a kit ? shruggy
i haven't bought a kit for years. mainly, because i have nothing that runs presently.

What is the number of this carburetor? For some reason I thought the round pump shafts were newer than 72.

Looks too rusty to be an internal piece.
